Designer spotlight Interview by the lovely Tee of Chiffon Dreams

Photobucket
A lovely surprise from my new HK bestie Ankita @ Dear Ankita! <3

I thought I'd give you all a break from my hat wearing and do a shoot when I am 90% casual, add some heels and a belt...and BAM, less slouch, more pazowch! In this heat, I have to actually wear my hair up most of the time so save it sticking to my back whilst I sexily swelter all over myself waiting for the bus!!! Mmm hotness!!!
I wanted to introduce two bloggers too... The first is the lovely Tee from "Chiffon Dreams" who wrote me a gorgeous email asking if I would be interested in answering some questions for her Designer Spotlight Series. I tell you what, this girl is a natural, she asked such great questions! It's always such an honor when people are actually interested, and let you know too! So thank you Tee! I enjoyed writing this interview! You can check out said interview, and her lovely blog HERE!
Thennn, I had a lovely surprise from my new Hong Kong friend Ankita on her truly awesome HK inspired blog "Dear Ankita". Probably the best thing about blogging is the networks of like minded people you meet, all over the world! This girl is tops, I'm most excited to spend a while heap of time with her :) Thank you most delightful one! :)
And THANK YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH to all of you lovely, gorgeous people who wrote the amazing things that you did about the Zara Issue!... you all give me mega drive to do this, I could for sure not go on without you all! So Thank you a million times, every word was so very much appreciated. xx

Erm FINALLY!!!! I actually managed to get dressed! This is a feat you probably cannot understand my triumph over, but trust me, in this heat... wearing heels and clothes and make up... pretty painful! But today, TODAY folks, I did it, and it felt....SOOOO GOOD!!! I've sincerely missed wearing heels and feeling like my legs go on and on as opposed to dramatically stopping 6 inches in advance of their destination! Oh sad face, on the subject of heels... I realised last night that a whole load of lovely things were swiped from my suitcase on the way back from Barcelona... including my favorite black peep toes... the ones I wear ALL THE TIME :( Photobucket SO SAD...  my heart sinks every time I think of it... Along with some of my hats too... gah, the person looting my bag sure knew how to hit my sore spots!!! Boo! Anyway, worse things happen, so I shall shoosh about this now and discuss the classic shorts 'n shirt combo... my staple uniform for when I actually have to get dressed! I am so completely adoring over sized shirts at the moment... I have designed a bunch for Disco Pony, all in crepe silks for that extra softness and layering potential, so excited to see them... and wear them!!!
I found a proper model for Disco Pony last night! Oh yes! Rather looking forward to getting her in some pieces... I know she will rock them out to the max! :)
Currently getting ready for morning dim sum on the beach with friends, after one of the most delicious, never ending meat fest's of a BBQ last night... woah, I'm not sure I can take any more food... but I will! Yes, yes... I will find a way!!!!
Hope you are all well, and are enjoying your weekends to the fullest :) xx

The world looks like a different place today... Having been submerged in an ocean of stress and anxiety for the past week, I have finally got done what I needed to get done! My passport now has a dozen more stamps on it AND... I have a NEW TAILOR! She is wonderful! My life has been made so much better... I can breathe again! Phewwww!
It's a good thing I wondered into the lions den of starting up a business so naively! Had I of known the true extent of what I'd be facing on a daily basis, I would have run, run, ruuunnnnn a billion miles! Luckily something as small seeming as changing my tailor has made the world seem suddenly a lot more awesome!!!
I can't tell you how excited I am to see the new pieces of the collection in real life soon! I haven't had the entire update done as I am testing out this new tailor... I know she will be amazing... but it's always wise to practice a little caution in this business! Once I see her work... I am getting the rest done asaps!!!
I thought today was going to be one of the most exhausting days of my Disco Pony life so far... but in fact the most annoying thing that happened was being picked out of a million people to have my bags checked at security! I smiled a bit too much at the security dog... they must have thought I was smiling at him for not barking whilst I got away with carrying thousands of dollars worth of cocaine through or something!!! haha! No, instead it was just piles of Disco Pony designs and fabric samples!

These pics were from a VERY humid morning of unsuccessful shooting... I really like the silhouette though... I thought I'd share! :)
Hope you are all getting along just fine... no, much better than fine! May some of my relief of todays events be with you calming you!!!

Take a breath.... VERY long sentence with no structure ahead!
Having just awoken to the stunning photos of Annika's Clemence Poesy-esque (but hotter, way hotter) sister rocking out the Disco Pony Silver Surfer Jacket, (Which made me very, very happy indeed!) I stumbled upon another treat, the Swedish band "Oh Laura" which is currently playing on repeat- and shall remain this way for a rather long time I feel! I've been trying to upload this god-damn video of me being a song bird for Miss Natalie SongBird Suarez, singing "Game Called Life" by The LeftOver Cuties, but as most things technically related, youtube hates me with a passion, and has indeed failed to upload 99.9% of my efforts! Even when I switched my macbook for an air, it still refuses. Anyway... the point of all this rambling is in fact my round about attempt to explain, that after hearing "Oh Laura", I now feel it to be of utmost importance that I dedicate some time to singing Release me! And, in turn shall dedicate it to Annika and her friend/writer of the song Erik! Amaze!
Enough of that now!

So... I have a vision people... This is not my vision, it is but mere practice! Perfectionism is exhausting, but I can't rest until I have perfected the series of "Outdoor Disco Pony" shoots that I am envisioning!
Firstly I would like to say I NEED A REAL MODEL... I am almost completely drained by my own self criticism, and I feel after nearly a year of Make Shift Modeling, I have had enough! I am absolutely not a model... and a far too extensive array of self loathing consumes my mind for far too long apres photo shoots. Sad, I know, but very true... It's hard to fake being a model when you just dont feel it!
I may get over this boohoo my legs are not 6 foot long, and my skin is not dewy fresh and flawless, and my.... this list could go on foreeeverrrr and everrrrr... I hope I do! I'm not going to stop, obviously... I have far too much to do before I retire my make shifting... But I thought id get it out of my system!!!
Secondly! (Here I go again) I NEED A TEAM! This one woman show is ermmm, reallly hard work when it comes to shooting in extreme temperatures. I am one big ball of humid mess by the time Alberts even got to pushing the button... I need assistance! (Rocky Horror song now playing in head!!!) Somebody to fan me down and dab my head with a towel whilst I parade about in AW clothing in 40 degrees C! That would be ACE! Any takers?! I might just be bothering this fine lady! Ankita... be wary! hehe!!!

Right, now, over to the REAL point of this post... which is to say: For a short time, before I source a lovely small factory for my designs (Still 100% hand made of course- nothing changes, but the number of tailors I have working on the pieces!) I am taking all your gorgeous measurements down in order to offer you 100% bespoke tailoring- custom fitted for you. This can't last forever sadly, as it's a very lengthy process that takes a lot of time and whatnot, however, it is very important to me that when you get your Disco Pony piece, it is love at first sight, and then second when you see it on!
If you are interested in a piece, but are not sure about sizing etc, please dont hesitate to email me: zoeycrystyna@gmail.com and tell me what you would like. I will make it happen!!! There is no restrictions on size for this time... so I wanted to let you all know! If you gotta disco, DISCO PONY!

Hope your all well beautifuls, thanks for being so gorgeous :) Means more than you could know!

Magic Hour...

Playsuit: Asos, Fedora: Vintage, Wedges: Asos (ASOS moment!!!)

There is a certain type of light that Barcelona has... just that perfect soft light that doesn't make you look deathly/scary/totally unsightly kind of thing! Not all the time, obviously... there was literally bazillions of shoots where the light was completely off, but the ratio, I feel was slightly better of good to bad than here in Hong Kong! HOWEVER... It is a process this whole light finding malarky... it takes time and practice, and lots of "UGH WHAT? I LOOK LIKE THAT!?!" moments!!!
I seem to be posting a looot of oldies at the moment, but I think it's just a figuring out good shooting hours thing! It will pass! We were just playing up on the roof, and the light seemed completely, utterly, deliciously wonderful... and when pointed at the stunning scenery all around, it truly was! Then it got to me!! HAHAHA! Oh deary me- have I not slept in weeks?!!!!
Today has been a magical day of playing on the most beautiful beach with friends and our dogs... we literally only found it today... right in our village! I can't get over how stunning this place is... it's paradise!
Tomorrow we shoot some Disco-Pony-outside beach shots... Up very, very early to try and catch a good light! Let's see if that works! Hopefully they come out well, and you get to see this crazy beautiful place I live in now!

Oblivious Style Icon!

Sooo, I was just mid HELLO HONG KONG post, and got a little distracted by a slightly old "personal message" on Chictopia...
I have been made a Style Icon! (I hope this is still valid!!! haha, I've not seen my emails for a while now- Is there a timer on accepting your Iconic status?!!!) If not... Then, WOWZIES! What an honor... like, total honor! Chictopia has from day one been such a lovely and supportive place to upload styles onto... I've never once had a bad or negative comment on there, only lovely, positive things... So it ranks pretty high in my books! Thank you Chictopia for this wonderful title! :) What a great way to start my Hong Kong day! (But boyyy, am I tired!!!) I woke up at 3am, verrry Jetlagged (Quick side note: A friend has just informed me he can't read my blog due to the poor grammar... hmmm, now I'm rethinking my weirrrd elooongateddd worrrrds! I would write normally, but I don't speak like that... I like you to hear the ups and downs and stresses on the words just as I think them- it's so much more personal this way- no?!!!) but despite my not knowing what planet I was on, I was rather happy about where I had landed! Right in the middle of the Jungle, overlooking the sea, with the mountains on my back! Perfect Feng shui that is! I'm currently at my desk in the city... desperately trying to keep my eyes open and come up with the next Disco Pony line! So much love bunnies, I hope you are well... anyone else suffering with the old Jetlag legs?! xx
