Longing to Don My Old Winter Uniform!

Wearing: Tights: House of Holland, Wedges: Aldo, Dress: TopShop, Leather Jacket: Berskha, Fedora: Vintage

Wearing: Jeans: H&M, Chelsea Peep Toes: H&M, Shirt: Zara, Oversized Cardi: Gift, Leather Jacket: Berskha, Hat: Zara
Kind of a creepy shot right!... but my nostalgia over rides the creepy by waaay far (said in true Clueless Cher style)!!!
Wearing: Booties: Steve Madden,  High Tops: Zara, Leather Shredded Jacket: ASOS, Belt: Vintage- Le Swing, Hat: Zara

Should I start with another "Recycled apology"? Nope... I'm not gonna! I felt the need for a nostalgic filler again, so here.it.is!
Oh how I miss wearing actual clothes... ones that you can layer on top of each other... oh sweet, sweet time when the thought of wearing clothes was joyful, not petrifying!!! Ahh, to waltz outside and feel the fresh, crisp breeze of Autumn. These moments feel like a dream to me right now, whilst I sit here in my home office, braving a momentary minute of no air-con (because I am too lazy to get up and turn it on right now- it's the heat I swear!) Granted, today has been rather wondrous, as I actually had a day off... Disco Pony was sleeping most of the day in fact, so I turned my attention to exploring the stunning jungle around me with Scoobs, drooling over the effortless cool of Charlotte Gainsbourg, and trying SO hard to finish a song I have been working on for what feels like ever (gah, I just can't get it perfect!). I have to say, when I'm not trekking into the city to go to work, and thus am sans make up and slightly appropriate clothing (not that I am ever really wearing even slightly appropriate office wear!) life out in the jungle seems much more bearable! Rather awesome in fact! No waiting in the blazing sun for 20 minutes whilst your make up sweats off, praying for the cool relief of the air con mini bus! Clearly, this isn't a lasting delight, but I will take what I can get and enjoy it to the max!
I can't stop thinking about the new pieces in the collection... wishing for the perfect location and the perfect model to shoot it all in!
I was writing up a small interview today about Disco Pony- one of the questions was "Which celebrity would you love to dress" which totoally started me off on a Charlotte Gainsbourg stalk fest. Gah, she is just so cool. I have a friend from uni who I WISH was here to model for me... she is so Charlotte Gainsbourg! Oh Sophie... I neeeed you!!!
This also got me thinking about perceptions of beauty, and how utterly depressing it is to get too caught up with "perfection". I always feel so much more excited about fashion and clothes and life in general when I surround myself with inspirational images of non conventional beauties- There really is nothing more beautiful than confidence. A hard thing to achieve when we are so surrounded by convention.
okay...so I have just spent the past 30 minutes trying to get a link I can use to post of Miss Gainsbourg, alas, it worketh not... it's too hot to fight it! Hope your well gorgeous ones! I'm looking forward to shooting some posts out on the streets, in civilisation at some point... maybe in some new Disco Pony pieces when they arrive! Eeep! :) xx

Flying By!

Wearing: Criss Cross Back Coral Dress: Asos, Suede Booties: Steve Madden
K, so I'm not flying anymore... But I was!!!

My ermmm, new backyard I guess!!! Lucky meee!
There has been tons of flying bunnies in the fashion blogosphere recently... I love flying pics... I think being able to fly sans vehicle, if not momentarily, is one of the most wonderful gifts the camera has given us... forever suspended in the air with a bouquet of heart shaped balloons! Happyness :) Obviously this is an ancient photo from this shoot... BUT, I've had to momentarily give into this hideous heat Hong Kong is drenching us all in... I DON'T WANT TO WEAR CLOTHES! It's actually so hot its quite disgusting! I've never been more ready to see the rain and a much, much, MUCH lower temperature- we could knock off about 20 degrees C and it would still be warm as pie! Last night we went out for dinner at around 8pm... before we had even walked up the steps out of our house to the street... I was practically drenched in sweat! It's relentless this Jungle heat... Blugh! I'm so over summer!!! Never, ever thought i'd say that!
I found a little beach island yesterday, just a short boat ride away from the main village... It's quite astonishing how beautiful it is out here... It doesn't seem real!
I'm very happy to be back in the city today... Despite my sporadic claims to be an old grandma who likes to be in peaceful surroundings at all times, I think I am actually a true City girl! Or at least I have adapted to being a fully fledged grandma whilst in a hustly-bustly city! I know I avoid Iphone snaps on this blog like the plage... but these little beachy pics I took on Sunday are rather delishus, I thought I'd share!
Hope your well... not suffering from outrageous heat, and if you are... I hope the driver didn't gun the engine on the mini bus so hard this morning up a mountain that the air con turned into heating and your momentary cool became an insufferable sweat fest- hmm? Anyone?!!!!! No? Good!!! ;) xx

Hello Hong Kong, Goodbye Wardrobe!

I take FULL responsibility for these shots... which is why they are erm, chrazie weird 'n full of black shadows blocking half the lens!!!
TopShop Silk shorts... I swear I spent a good year of my life thinking one of my legs was fatter than the other one when I got these... Now I'm always handling fabrics and cuts and designing... I see that this was in fact a hideously made pair of shorts with one leg 2 inches smaller than the other!!! Oh the complex they gave me!

Oh wardrobe... How full you were of so much stuff! How musty and vintage you smelled when I got back from Hong Kong, what joy and pain you brought me whilst I tried to create you!!! Oh wardrobe... you are no more :(
That was my wardrobe poem. This was my attempt at documenting its demise. Before it had, erm been demised!!! (Agh, now all I can think about it my poor Grammar/ incorrect word choices! Thanks Chops!)
We though perhaps we would keep our little flat in Barcelona... But thennnn we realised that we aren't billionaires! haha! Whoops! So, this meant all those treacherous hours I spent up a ladder listening to Shakira on repeat, scraping the wet paint off the walls that just completely refused to stick to its ancient crumbliness, then re painting it, and then doing it all over again... and thennnn sticking magazine clippings all over it, and hats, and other things was all in vain! (well... kind of, I did in fact have my haven of stuff up and running for a good few months before I had to say goodbye!) Now, despite my horrible photography skills (who knew how much hard work taking pictures is with one of those view finder things!!!) you can ALMOST make out my little vintage hideout! I did actually take a photo of the floor, which was just a big old heap of more stuff... clothes, shoes, things and magazines... but I cant for the life of me locate it! Honestly... I was entirely willing to show you the REAL ME! Aka, the filthiest girl alive!!! The truth will out at some point! There is nothing neat about me! If that song by Gabriella Climi went "Nothing's NEAT about me" I would sing it for you... Wait... now I'm reading that, it sounds like nothings neat about me... well, it says that... but I meant it in the messy neat kinda way... I'm totally neat as a person! Swear! I am in a slight state of unknown... perhaps joy, freedom, and probably some sorrow at the lack of the above clutter/ clothing/ footwear I now own! I did in fact give 90% of my possessions away... Of course, had I of known about our perma-move well in advance, I would have given it all to you... I assure you it's all gone to good, happy homes however. The next country I move to... I promise you... first picks are yours!!! xx

Well, that title is actually not true at all... because as you know, being fellow bloggers, there are literally tens of thousands of un-used, sad, lonely pictures that never get seen... either because one feels the old legs looked waaaay too fat in that one, or the eyes were shut, or the lighting made you look like you were dead, or whatnot (you know what I'm talking about!)... just the usual reasons we don't show off the bad ones! (I do frequently feel guilty for contributing to the media ideal that bad face/hair/body/ everything days don't really exist- I assure you if you were to see my "bad pile" you would all die of laughter! One day, when I'm old and brave enough, I will post them up!) However, they arn't all bad, some unfortunate ones just don't make it due to there being too many... or in this case, due to being candid! Which don't get me wrong, is not a bad thing at all... I LOVE candid shots, they are the best... but when you feel like you have a bunch of perfectly fine snaps that make up your usual amount per post, then the candid ones get kind of forgotten... :(
Seeing as I am yet to survive a whole week longer without my sweetheart, his camera and his undeniable skills I have succumbed to "mining the archives" (oh creepy, this was a title for my first ever essay at university!- we all failed from being too literal after going to the library and "mining the archives!" haha!) But I was quite surprised to see so many piccies that seem perfectly fine to me now... At the time I deemed them truly hideous. there is something about seeing a photo of yourself right after it has been taken that makes (me at least) want to book a month at some kind of "retreat" where you come out looking "better" I think they call this place LA?!!!
It's nice looking back over your efforts aswell... sometimes it feels as if I'm not doing enough... but when I look back, it seems I did in fact prance about quite a bit... in the same pair of shoes for the most part it seems! Despite my bath tub full of them!?! I'm mad... a creature of habit clearly!!!
Before this becomes an essay "Mining the Archives" style... I wanted to add that I am now back in Barcelona... My flight was delayed by about 3 times the flight time, but well worth it! I got home and kissed everything I could see in my house... I even picked up the dog mat and gave it a good sniff!... I'm not sure how wise that was... but I've REALLY missed my dog! We are still not re united, I've decided to let him play up in the country side for a week longer, and pick him up when Albert gets back... This way we can be the heroic parents... He totally thinks we have abandoned him. Poor Scoobs! How are you all? I hope your all having a lovely summer wherever you are... Where are you?! :) xx
